Historic Center of Porto

The historic center of Porto has been enhanced with a set of urban furniture pieces, installed on Rua 31 de Janeiro, aiming to contribute to the revitalization of this street by offering more public space for pedestrians.

With an author-designed concept, the set of elements takes the form of parklets — that is, a temporary extension of the sidewalk into the parking bay — and is arranged on alternating levels, following a tripartite functional logic: bench + deck + flower pot.

This type of intervention seeks to promote pedestrian accessibility and bring collective use back to the streets, creating meeting and sharing areas adapted to the terrain’s topography.
